Sheila Masterson
Sheila Masterson is a project manager by day, and a tarot reader and fantasy romance writer by night. When she’s not busy slinging cards and words, you can find her practicing yoga or curled up reading a fantasy or romance book. She lives outside of Philadelphia with her fiancé and way too many houseplants.
From Lockdown to Love Triangles
Sheila came back to writing the way many people did—trapped in her house during lockdown and desperate for dissociation and joy.
She always loved writing. As a kid, she filled notebooks with short stories and book ideas. She even wrote Goosebumps fanfic before fanfic was cool. In college, she took all writing electives, because a communication degree didn’t have enough of a writing workload for her (extreme sarcasm).
But The Lost God was the first time she sat down to see if she could write something longer form. She channeled all her anxiety into the book and wrote until she ran out of story. That took four books.
She writes emotional character-driven stories about the joys and heartbreaks of love, the losses and triumphs of claiming agency, and the angst and healing of evolution. At the heart of all of her stories, you’ll find flawed, vulnerable characters who feel deeply human and magic that feels stitched from the threads of the real world.
When she’s not writing, you can find her curled up with a good book, reading tarot, or having a cocktail with friends. Sheila lives outside Philadelphia with her fiancé and a gaggle of sporadically-watered houseplants.
